Pet the cats

Six cats live at the cafe and none of them work. Sitting with them is the cheapest happiness in the city, and happiness is the multiplier under every hour at the gym.

Why it is priced by the point

The happiness cap is set by your hideout, so 5% of it is 5 in a Cardboard box and 50 in an Old Quarter townhouse. A flat fee would hand the cat with the best hideout ten times the value for the same money, so the price moves with the gain instead: $3 a point. The nearest thing on the market is a Ball of yarn at $90 for 25 happiness, so the cafe is the cheaper happiness — which it has to be, or nobody would make the trip. A cat already at its ceiling is refused rather than charged for nothing.
